Escape from Reformation: Part 4

Tyna could not sleep that night. She could not stop thinking about what Saturnette had said to her.

She loved it among the Amazons. They were so kind and generous. They had taught her atheletics and made her stronger and healthier than she had ever been before. They had taught her to obey loving authority.

The problem was that life under loving authority was boring. As a space pirate, Tyna had known danger and excitement. She had plundered alien space vessels and taken vast treasures. As the crew's pilot, she had respect among the Saturnian pirates.

Of course, she had been beaten or whipped plenty of times for failing her superiors. Nevertheless, she felt oddly nostalgic for the brutality and tyranny of Saturnian life. At least you knew where you stood with the cruel warlords of Saturn.

Saturnette had been right too about her disatisfaction with purely female company. Tyna had always hoped to meet a good looking Saturnian male and to have little Saturnians. This was not going to happen to her living in Themiscyra. She could go and find a man among Patriarchal human societies, but that meant leaving the Amazons as surely as returning to Saturn. Perhaps it was better to face a monster she knew than a monster she didn't know.

As appalling as it seemed, Tyna knew the choice was between betraying the Amazons or despair.

The next day, Tyna opened the door of Saturnette's cell and stepped in.

After closing the door she said "I will help you."

"I knew you would," replied Saturnette.

"What do you want me to do?" asked the pirate turned prison guard.

"Get the keys to my Venus Girdle and that of my girls," instructed Saturnette.

"I take it you plan to steal the flying saucer that Paula is building with the help of the Martian prisoners?"

"Yes, as you are the pilot, you can fly us back to Saturn. Will fight any guards who try to stop us," said Saturnette.
