Description
Plaice and chips with a mug of tea at the River Cafe in Bedford. There is nothing like a mug of tea with fish and chips.
This is the second time I ordered this dish at that cafe and the third time I have eaten at this East European run cafe in the last two weeks.
This is one of those 'greasy spoon' cafes where they serve nearly everything with chips. Very working class. You see a lot of them down south, but further north there seem to be less of them per square mile. Maybe working class people up north can't afford to go to cafes.
It's been very hot today. The hottest day of the year and set to be even hotter tomorrow.

Yo Im starving looking at this. Those chips look like what we call, steak fries. What you call a cafe

Is the North of England that run down? I read an interview with the guy from that band Raven and he joked that people in london think anything 20 miles north from their city is like Conan the barbarian.
