DC Super Friends was a variation on the Justice League that was aimed at younger readers. Given the dark and brutal nature of most of what DC published in recent years, a distinct comic for younger readers was definitely a good idea. It's artwork is simplistic, as are its plots, with some moral lesson demonstrated by the heroes' victory over the baddies. The comic also includes puzzles for the readers to do in between stories.

I bought the DC Super Friends trade paperback, Head of the Class because I was very keen to read the story Cool Customers. This features Blue Snowman, aka Bryna Brillyant, a female villain from Golden Age Wonder Woman. Her gimmick was dressing up as a hulking blue snowman and using a special 'blue ice' as a weapon.

In Cool Customers, Blue Snowman teams up with a bunch of ice-themed villains, Mr Freeze, Killer Frost, Captain Cold, Minister Blizzard and the Icicle. The villains are defeated very easily, as they quickly begin to fall out and fight each other. After they are rounded up and locked up in jail, Aquaman and Flash explain that heroes work together as a team.

It's a little odd to see a cross-dressing villainess in a comic aimed at kids, though her transvestite/ transgender tendencies are muted when she takes off her mask to explain that she is a lady. It's also odd to see her teamed up with a character who is called 'Killer Frost' in a kid's comic. However, Killer Frost (quite a pretty version) does not do any killing. She has a fight with Blue Snowman over a diamond.

Blue Snowman must be revived but not with the current zeitgeist. She she should be done straight up in all her bizarre yet earnest nature.
